The Asvins are “swift as thought,” fly “rapid at speed” and are “obstructed by nothing.” (3) Covered with gold, meath-tinted, dropping fatness, your chariot with its freight of food comes hither, Swift as thought, Aśvins, rapid as the tempest, wherewith ye travel over all obstructions. (RV-V) HYMN LXXVII. Aśvins Again, the “gold chariot,” being “man’s protector,” “easily bending course,” “powered by will,” “chariot-born-invested with rays of light,” and “raised out of water” are all potential characteristics of UFOs. (1) MAY your gold chariot, drawn by vigorous horses, come to us, blocking up the earth and heaven, Bright with its fellies while its way drops fatness, food-laden, rich in coursers, man's protector. (2) Let it approach, yoked by the will, three-seated, extending far and wide o’er fivefold beings, Whereon, ye visit God-adoring races, bending your course whither ye will, O Aśvins. (5) O Chariot-borne, this car of yours invested with rays of light comes harnessed to our dwelling. Herewith, O Aśvins, while the dawn is breaking, to this our sacrifice bring peace and blessing. (7) Bhujyu, abandoned in the midst of ocean, ye raised from out the water with your horses, Uninjured, winged, flagging not, undaunted, with deeds of wonder saving him, O Aśvins. (RV-VII) HYMN LXIX. Aśvins In the next hymn, we read the “sacred grass” is trimmed and prepared, so they are being invoked to “ascend your car” with your “golden seat” and “reigns of gold” with an “axle of gold” and “wheels of gold.” In other words, please land on the grass and bring to us mushrooms. (17) Men who have trimmed the sacred grass, bringing oblations and prepared, O Aśvins, are invoking you. (28) Ascend your car with golden seat, O Aśvins, and with reins of gold, That reaches even to the sky. (29) Golden is its supporting shaft, the axle also is of gold, And both the wheels are made of gold. (RV-VIII) HYMN V. Aśvins These “riders of the sky” who are “sometimes concealed, sometimes apparent,” who fly according to the “flight of law”: (12) Cheerers of many, rich in goods, discoverers of opulence, The Aśvins, Riders through the sky, have welcomed this my song of praise. (23) Three places of the Aśvins, erst concealed, are made apparent now. Both Sages, with the flight of Law come hither unto those who live. (RV-VIII) HYMN VIII. Aśvins When the “stalks are pressed” and the “voices sound the song of praise,” the “Asvins show up.” (19) When yellow stalks give forth the juice, as cows from udders pour their milk, And voices sound the song of praise, the Aśvins' worshippers show first. (RV-VIII) HYMN IX. Aśvins. |
The Asvins “speed through heaven,” to their “mansion above the sea,” as they “fly through firmament” or “speed through heaven.” (1) WHETHER ye travel far away or dwell in yonder light of heaven, Or in a mansion that is built above the sea, come thence, ye Aśvins, hitherward. (6) Lords of great riches, whether through the firmament ye fly or speed through heaven and earth, Or, with your Godlike natures stand upon your cars, come thence, O Aśvins, hitherward. (RV-VIII) HYMN X. Aśvins The Vedic word for boat “nau” also means “word.” The word for “thought” or “prayer” also means “vessel.” (127) (Both Egyptians and Hindus use the boat symbolism floating across the heavens.) “When Varuṇa and I embark together and urge our boat into the midst of ocean, We, when we ride o’er ridges of the waters, will swing within that swing and there be happy. (4) Varuṇa placed Vasiṣṭha in the vessel, and deftly with his might made him a Ṛṣi. When days shone bright the Sage made him a singer, while the heavens broadened and the Dawns were lengthened.” (Rig Veda VII, LXXXVIII, 3-4) Now, let’s take another look at part of the Mayan creation myth briefly. According to Victor Montegjo, in his book, El Q’anil, Man of Lightning, in the Mayan Popol Vuh, there is a Kakulja Juraqan that translates as “bolt of a leg or lightning.” Chipi Kakulja is a “small lightning bolt,” and Raxa Kakulja is a “green lightning bolt.” (128) Lightning bolts also play a role in the myth of indigenous groups of Guatemala, in the discovery of corn. Going back previous to the Popol Vuh, to the oral tradition of the Maya, they mention the assistance provided by the lightning in the discovery of corn. The story of the discovery of different types of corn comes from the burning of lightning into the ground. The corn that was burned by the lightning turned blue-black, the corn that was touched but not burned acquired a yellow color, and the corn that was not touched stayed a white color. This legend of corn and the participation of lightning is common among Mayan people, including the Mams, Tojolabals, Chujes, and Q’anjob’als. (129) This sounds very much to me like perhaps the Mayans, as well as every other ancient culture going back to India and the Rig Veda did not only perceive the “Lightning” as the force that engenders the growth of mushrooms, but UFOs as well. It’s the UFOs that leave visible marks in the “cornfields” which we call “crop circles”and not only that, they have a distinctively generative effect on the DNA of the crops they land on and leave burn marks in. The description here makes me think of the burn marks generated by UFOs when they land in fields. Is this really how varieties of corn were first created?
