Keel also observed: “When a mass of energy enters the visible spectrum by turning red or violet, it must somehow be altering the frequency of its ‘vibrations.’ These frequency changes are so well controlled that the object can vibrate at the exact frequency of the percipient’s brain waves. When the object’s pulsations are synchronized with the percipient’s frequency, a medical phenomenon occurs. The witness lapse into a hypnotic-like trance and hallucinates. If the percipient is psychic, the trance can seem like an extension of reality, and the hallucination will seem like a very real experience. In most cases the witness will later note a great time discrepancy; the experience will seem to have taken more time, than actually expired. Witnesses without psychic ability will not become entranced. They simply fall over unconscious.” (83)

What John Keel is saying here is that the UFO appears to be causing a hallucination in the mind, due to the effects of electromagnetic energy on the brain and what the subject is witnessing is in fact a hallucination. This is a very profound thought to consider. What if the UFOs are not actually presenting beings that people are seeing, but rather, “hallucinations?” This does not preclude the possibility of abductions, it only helps to possibly establish a basis for what is being seen visually.

Keel notes that the earth and its electromagnetic energy waves produce variation and distortion in paranormal phenomena: “Paranormal manifestations tend to occur in areas where magnetic deviations occur and during magnetic storms.” (84)

Next, I present a Keel quote taken from the writings of another fellow admired and quoted by Keel: “The late Ivan T. Sanderson, a zoologist and a very original thinker, went one giant step further. If this collective unconsciousness existed like a magnetic blanket over the entire planet, and if it could manipulate our reality independently, then it would mean that this world is really a living organism with a mind of its own. To assure its own survival, it has to feed off us. It has to “jolly us along,” as Ivan put it, urging us to breed and giving us some kind of hope so we won’t just throw up our hands and commit genocide. The earth needs us because each one of us is a cell in its massive brain. Just as the human brain controls each cell and organ in the body, the supermind has the power to control each of us and can direct our individual and collective destinies. In short, the earth itself is God.” (85)

Keel also writes: “In the end, all paranormal manifestations may seem utterly meaningless. However, all these weird events and games do have a subtle underlying purpose. They very efficiently provide a coverup camouflaging the presence of the real phenomenon and its purpose. Penetrating the camouflage and correctly interpreting the true nature of the phenomenon could well be the final stage of man’s evolution.” (86)

Keel reports that between 1952 and 1965, there are no less than 18 documented cases in which citizens of Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil were attacked or injured by unidentified hairy animals in human form which had been introduced by grounded UFOs. (87)

And in Our Haunted Planet Keel wrote: “Early investigators and thinkers soon realized they were dealing with magical beings who could imitate man and his works. Instead of being solid, physically stable, assemblages of cells and matter, these entities were apparently temporary manipulations of energy. So, the word ‘transmogrification’ was used to describe them. These transmogrifications, according to the lore, could assume any form… from a wolf to a cat to a house, ship or iridescent god of awesome proportions. They could appear clothed in rags or in gold crowns and expensive velvet robes. Worst of all, they had a penchant for playing all kinds of games with us, manipulating our fears and beliefs and even conning us into going to war with each other.” (88)

    UFO Abductions or MILABS?

Next, we move into an area that I imagine will be uncomfortable for some people, the area of UFO abductions, kidnapping of peoples, potential genetic experiments and hybrid children. Is this all true, or is this all part of the mythos, or is some part of it true, and some part mythos? Let’s take a look. We’ll start with an area of research barely anyone discusses in UFO culture, MILABS, which stand for “Military Abductions.” The book I draw from for this section is coincidently called MILABS, Military Mind Control and Alien Abduction by Dr. Helmut and Marion Lammer from 1999. This section deals extensively with MK-Ultra, which actually started in 1950 with Project BLUEBIRD, was renamed ARTICHOKE in 1951, and in 1953, when the mind control program was transferred from the Office of Security to the Technical Services Staff (TSS), it became Project MK-Ultra. (89)

On Feb. 17, 1994, Dr. C.B. Scott Jones wrote to Dr. John Gibbons, the science advisor of President Bill Clinton, concerning the Rockefeller UFO Initiative, and stated “I urge you to take another look into the “UFO Matrix of belief” that I provided you last year. My mention of mind control technology at the February 4th meeting was quite deliberate. Please be careful about this. There are reasons to believe that some government group has interwoven research about this technology with alleged UFO phenomena. If that is correct, you can expect to run into early resistance when inquiring about UFOs, not because of the UFO subject, but because that has been used to cloak research and applications of mind-control activity.” (90)
